About Carnglaze Caverns

Carnglaze Caverns offers couples a truly unique underground venue, guaranteed to make your special day even more memorable and amazing. If traditional wedding venues aren’t for you, and you fancy something a bit different, then this is the place you’ve been looking for. A retired Cornish slate mine, steeped in history and atmosphere, with all (or most of) the comforts of home.

Our stunning Lakeside setting is perfect for small intimate ceremonies, in the heart of the magnificent lower cavern, overlooking the crystal clear underground lake and bathed in flickering candlelight. If you have a larger gathering in mind, the impressive Rum Store is the place to be, with the capacity for up to 200 guests.

An unrivalled 120ft aisle allows you plenty of time to enjoy your grand entrance. It also has its own bar and stage, with all the space you need for your Ceremony, seated Reception, bands and dancing the night away.

During the summer months we host ceremonies outside amongst the trees in our beautiful terraced gardens, where dappled sunlight and birdsong are always on hand to add to your natural and relaxed celebration. Licensed for marriage ceremonies and civil partnerships, Carnglaze is a magical place to begin the next chapter of your adventure.

The Upper Cavern - The Rum Store

Licensed for up to 400 guests, with wedding aisle, full bar, seating and stage areas.Can be used in conjunction with the lower cavern and underground lake.

The Lower Cavern - Underground Lake

Licensed for up to 35 guests plus bridal party ~ decorate the cavern with hundreds of candles to create the perfect atmosphere for your romantic day.

Outside: Gardens and Woods 

Since a change in legislation in 2022, couples can now hold their ceremony outside, anywhere in the venue’s grounds. This offers you so much more flexibility for a totally unique wedding.
