About Cheylesmore Manor House

The remnants of a medieval royal palace in Coventry city centre, the gatehouse of Cheylesmore Manor is at the heart of the city on New Union Street. The magnificent timber building is a key piece of Coventry's rich and important heritage.

Previously the only unfortified royal palace outside of London, Cheylesmore Manor is now used as a stunning ceremony venue.

The building we know today is, in fact, only the gatehouse and parts of two cross wings to the original manor house.

The Manor House houses three beautiful ceremony rooms: The Queen Isabella Room, The Black Prince Room and the Library Room. We offer wedding ceremonies, civil partnership, renewal of vows, commitment, naming and citizenship ceremonies.

We have a choice of ceremonies available including a bespoke package. Why not book an appointment with our experienced Ceremony Co-ordinator who will meet with you for an hour in our Ceremony Suites at Cheylesmore Manor House. The Ceremony Coordinator will talk you through your ceremony, answer any questions and personalise your ceremony with you.

    It started raining the minute the driver and us left for Cheylsmore Manor. I was worried about my hair and makeup but was so pleasantly surprised to see an umbrella was arranged for me!     Cheylesmore Manor House is a hidden gem! Snuggled in the centre of Coventry, this beautiful medieval style palace is perfect for a classy and intimate ceremony. The team at Cheylesmore Manor House made our ceremony seamless and I would choose this venue again in a heart beat! Their expertise helped us through every aspect of the ceremony from the legal side to the vows, readings and optional extras enabling us to make it our own! We chose the bespoke package. Our ceremony was personalised with our story which was read out to our friends and family and my young cousin did a reading. We also chose our own music. This made the day even more special to be able to incorporate these bits! The team are very easy to contact and nothing was too much for them. On the day they made the day run smoothly and were there to calm any nerves. A fantastic wedding ceremony venue!
