Edinburgh Zoo is probably the wildest place in Edinburgh to get married – add in the elegance of our historic Mansion House, impeccable service, and delicious catering, we will ensure, as newlyweds, you will have a truly memorable experience.

With over 200 years of history and steeped in tradition, our Mansion House is the striking centrepiece of Edinburgh Zoo. Our light and airy Keith room and traditional Library room are perfect settings for the start of your wedding day preparations. Whilst the stunning Macmillan room provides a breath taking backdrop for your ceremony, looking out over the zoo’s stunning gardens, the city of Edinburgh and across to the Pentland hills. 

After your ceremony, your daytime guests can enjoy the zoo, providing leisurely entertainment during your drinks reception, whilst you both enjoy the many different scenes and locations the zoo grounds have to offer. Why not go a step further and incorporate an animal encounter for that very nontraditional wedding day experience? Your wedding breakfast is enjoyed in our magnificent oak-panelled Geddes and Gillespie suite which comfortably sits up to 100 guests and offers a neutral palette for your preferred decoration. You will also have direct access to our beautiful Mansion House gardens where you can enjoy more of our breath-taking setting and panoramic views.

    Take an original Georgian era Mansion House, hidden in the heart of one of Scotland's most famous tourist attractions. Add that central location, the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland's collection of animals, some highly attentive staff and a hugely talented kitchen team and you have an exclusive-use venue which is guaranteed to produce the perfect day for the happy couple. Things we loved: accessible from local, national and international perspectives; parking provision and a hotel less than 100m walk away.. Unique and unusual. A beautiful setting with dozens of photo opportunities. Dedicated rooms for the Bridal party and Groomsmen, with lots of break-out areas and places for catch-ups and conversations. Guests have open access to the Zoo, which gives a great bit of down-time for the Bride and Groom to have photos and relax while their guests are entertained!
    Uniquely Amazing
    From start to finish the whole experience was without compare. The helpfulness of all the staff was above and beyond from seeing the venue, choosing the food to the actual day. Tailoring the day to our desires and needs never seemed too much of a hassle. Everything was well prepare and they happily assisted us put our final personal touches. The day was organised and ran smoothly leaving us relaxed and able to enjoy our time. The food was great and everyone commented that it was the best wedding food they'd had. Our guests loved being able to go round the zoo whilst we had photos taken. This was a fun alternative to normal wedding entertainment. Overall the venue is beautiful, the staff were incredible, we had the perfect day and it will always hold the most incredible memories for us. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Mansion House, Edinburgh Zoo.
    Otterly fabulous
    A beautiful venue with a variety of packages to suit all budgets and wedding sizes. Our wedding coordinator (Kimberley) was fantastic. She made all the planning and organizing in the lead up to our wedding straightforward and exciting. She was always on hand to help with any questions/changes we had, nothing was ever a problem and communication was excellent throughout.On the day itself, the venue looked beautiful and all the catering staff were so friendly and helpful from start to finish. Their professionalism, warmth and efficiency was impressive. We had some guests with mobility issues and others with special dietary requirements and all were catered to throughout the whole day/evening with ease. The meal we had was delicious and all our guests as well as us (the happy couple) thoroughly enjoyed the day. Would highly recommend Edinburgh Zoo/Mansion house to anyone looking for a wedding venue.
    Fantastic Venue
    We can't thank the staff at The Mansion House at Edinburgh Zoo enough.From start to finish the day was perfect and everything went according to plan. Talking about planning, Kimberley was amazing and was always on hand before the big day to chat about what we wanted from food to timings. There wasn't anything that couldn't be done.We got lucky with the weather on our day so managed to get lots of gorgeous photos of the grounds and even if it were raining there was still lots of amazing photo opportunities inside the venue - particularly the main ceremony room - which was stunning!If you are thinking about having a wedding at the venue, go ahead and book as you won't be disappointed!
