About Newark Castle

Newark Castle is a 12th century scheduled ancient monument in beautiful surroundings. The Castle walls stand tall and proud with the River Trent flowing alongside. The beautifully maintained gardens provide a stark contrast of colour with the ancient walls.

Couples can say their vows in the Undercroft or under the Bandstand.

The Bandstand
Get married under the Bandstand in the centre of Newark Castle for full on wow-factor. Your guests will be able to admire the historic walls and beautifully kept gardens while they await the bride's arrival. The Bandstand is the perfect location for a summer wedding and some truly memorable wedding photos.

Please note that we’re unable to close the gardens whilst the ceremony is taking place.

The Undercroft
For a wedding with a difference get married under the dramatic and intimate stone arches of the Castle's Undercroft. The Undercroft is accessed via the Castle's waterway by the River Trent, adding to a unique experience for you and up to 50 guests.
