About Rectory Farm

Just 2 miles from the magnificent Kings College which is situated next to the river Cam and surrounded by the world famous Cambridge colleges, Rectory Farm stands proudly surrounded by 50 acres of formal and informal gardens and fields. This combines the feel of the countryside with the convenience of town.

 

Accommodation over 58 rooms throughout the house and Chalet building offers your guests plenty of space to stay and relax on your big day.From family rooms and suites to standard doubles, we provide friendly high quality accommodation at good value prices.

 

 

The pretty country house oozes splendour and style and is available for the sole use of you and your guests. Satay in the guest bedrooms, and the house becomes a private haven for your wedding party.It remains a family home, with a sense of intimacy which cannot be reproduced in a hotel setting.

 

We aim to provide a personal service, so your wedding is given care and attention and you feel special. You have the freedom and flexibility to create your own dream wedding. The garden provide the perfect location for our traditional marquee and an elegant backdrop to your day.

 

In a secluded, large garden, like a secret hide away, nestles a spacious and pretty marquee, which is surrounded by willows and mature trees.It is a romantic, traditional marquee and the long window looks onto fields and the garden.The ideal setting for the perfect country wedding.

 

Complete with Venetian chandeliers, canopied reception area and enchanting walkway the marque measures 80ft x 40ft and is lined with ivory, with a full timber subfloor, onto which green carpet is laid. This along with ivory/cream chairs provides an elegant backdrop and enables you to declare the marquee in your own personal style.There is a dance floor with atmospheric lighting and sparking lights in the dance floor.

 

The marquee seats up to 200 people for more traditional wedding breakfasts or 250 for stylish, more relaxed stand up buffets.We give you the freedom to either choose one of our  recommended caterers or source your own individual caterer.

 

The Lawn, Gardens and Marquee are an enchanting setting for parties and celebrations for all special occasions including birthdays, anniversaries, christenings and weddings. The lawn and gardens making a wonderful setting for reception drinks and a gentle game of croquet.

 

As dusk falls, lightening effects in the garden change the mood and provide a dramatic backdrop for your evening party, whilst fairy lights provide a more sheltered alternative.

 

With lots of space we provide unique opportunity for you to tailor your day to your requirements and add your own personal touches. We have even had a fair ground for one couples big day!

 

The Bridal Suite provides a romantic setting for the bridal couple's first night. A beautiful, large, light and spacious room with king size bed and huge bay window with views over the lovingly tended gardens.

The Suite is also a wonderful room for the bride to get ready on the morning of the wedding, with space for your bridesmaids and entourage.There are also fantastic opportunities both within the suite and gardens too.

    We chose Rectory Farm for the setting for our summer wedding for many reasons. The house and chalets are maticulously kept and the beautiful garden provided a perfect backdrop for our wedding photographs. We wanted to be married outside and the Folly provided a perfect place for us to say our vows and sign the wedding register. In the smaller marquee, we received our guests, ate our canapés and drank champagne. The larger marquee provided a perfect setting for the remainder of our wedding. We were able to enter the venue the day before our wedding to set our flowers and other decorations which was extremely helpful. The bridal suite was available from 11am on our wedding day, giving us plenty of time to get ready before our 2pm wedding.We would like to thank Alison and Roger for helping to organise our perfect wedding celebration. We also used Pheasant Catering Company, following a recommendation from Roger. The service and food was superb.

    Rectory Farm – from the initial enquiry to the event, Alison was helpful in answering all our questions and hosting site visits for our team and suppliers. The venue itself is stunningly beautiful and the perfect setting for a summer corporate event. The venue factors in setup and teardown days within the initial quote which a lot of venues don’t allow for unless asked so this was extremely helpful. The team is flexible and allowed us to transform the venue exactly how we envisaged it. We couldn’t recommend Rectory Farm enough.
