WELCOME TO OUR STATELY HOME FOR WEDDINGS IN THE NORTH WEST

Samlesbury Hall is a warm and welcoming, privately owned, exclusive wedding venue in Preston, Lancashire.

For over seven decades, we have enjoyed hosting weddings in the North West - it's what we do best.

You want it?  You've got it! At our beautiful stately home wedding venue in Lancashire, close to the Ribble Valley, we can accommodate many types of weddings including themed or outdoor weddings.

EXPLORE OUR BEAUTIFUL WEDDING GROUNDS

As a wedding venue in Lancashire, our immediate grounds are private and provide your photographer with plenty of beautiful backdrops, including sweeping lawns, stone steps, Italian courtyard, festoon-lit tennis lawn, rosarium and ancient woodland, meaning we can host both indoor and outdoor weddings.

The Whittaker Room is the perfect romantic setting for your ceremony and our 700 year old Great Hall is what makes us one of the best wedding venues in Lancashire for your delicious wedding breakfast.

Our Italian courtyard is the best spot for relaxing during your evening reception, especially when we have our wood fired pizza oven and street food shack fired up and cooking up tasty food for your guests.

The front lawn is often the setting for garden games to keep guests entertained all day and offers you an outdoor wedding setting.

Not forgetting of course, the best and quirkiest wedding accommodation in the North West & Lancashire .

As a private charitable Trust, there is no fat cat!  So you and your guests will experience a real personal atmosphere.  We don’t have a head office or investors to answer to and as such we can be incredibly flexible in how we manage each wedding.  We are real, friendly people with a sense of humour and we will make your day the very best.

Our picturesque wedding venue in Lancashire, North West boasts a longstanding team and we know how to work well together – our enthusiasm is real.

We work tirelessly behind the scenes so that weddings in Lancashire run smoothly and effortlessly.

Our wedding coordinators are on hand to answer your queries over a cuppa (and maybe a scone from our wonderful Heritage Cafe!). You can rest assured that the team you’ve planned your day with will be there and in charge on your wedding day itself!

We hold quarterly open evenings - usually on a Thursday from 5pm til 7pm.  During these nights, Samlesbury Hall is set up and dressed for a wedding, usually with a seasonal theme and colour scheme because we are very lucky to be an all year round wedding venue in Lancashire & the North West.

These evenings are the perfect occasion to immerse yourself in how your own wedding day might look and feel and is the best way to get a sense of us as the ideal wedding venue in Preston, Lancashire.

From 11am, our Victorian Gatehouse is the best place to get ready with your wedding party, spacious enough for a big group to get ready for the day all together.

With plenty of plugs for hairdryers and straighteners, comfy sofas for relaxing, high hooks for your dress, full length mirror and a huge bathroom, the Gatehouse is designed with weddings in mind.

Treat yourself to a home-cooked breakfast, fill the fridge with fizz and play your favourite music.  Anything else you need? Just ask us!

WHERE TO SLEEP AT OUR STATELY HOME WEDDING VENUE IN PRESTON

Set in gladed woodland, our 28 en-suite Shepherd’s Huts are there for your guests on the evening of your wedding.  We are not a hotel, but something  so much better!  The huts are all centrally heated, with shower, loo and the comfiest memory foam mattresses. Your guests will LOVE them

The Gatehouse master bedroom is yours for the night of the wedding and available from 11am.  With a romantic slipper bed, luxurious furnishings, double shower and roll top bath, it is the perfect end to a perfect day.

Pop in the following morning for a lovely Lancashire breakfast done only the best way at our amazing Heritage Cafe.

    We have actually lived parallel lives; going to the same primary school, high school, leisure centres etc. (Richard is two school years older than me). Fast forwarded to 2018, just before Christmas, after Ric moved back to Preston we went on our first date. Our families remembered us all the way back to primary school so it was just meant to be! A year in to our relationship, the whole country went into lockdown. With this we took the big step to move in together and we became a family (along with our Beagle, Bailey). A year later, just out of lockdown we buy our forever home, and get engaged (and I turn 30) all in the space of a week!As a history teacher, Samlesbury Hall seemed like the perfect choice, with its beautiful architecture. As soon as we walked into Samlesbury Hall, Ric looked at me, the sun shining through the beautiful stained glass windows and we knew it was the perfect choice for us.As a couple who loved walking in the beautiful Lancashire countryside with Bailey, we very much wanted something we both absolutely love. The kitchen was so accommodating and we had the most amazing meat and potato pie, chips and mushy peas! Everybody was so surprised by the meal and there wasn't a plate not empty in the room!!The song after the first dance, everybody was on the dance floor, the band sounded amazing and we were surrounded by the sheer happiness of our friends and family. Our first dance was played by our band Lemonade, Maybe by James Arthur. The words mean so much to us both, and matches our love story perfectly.We honestly could not have asked for anything more from our venue. It was absolutely the best day of our lives, and we have Samlesbury Hall to thank for that. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. It was absolutely perfect.
